Setting an offer that gets accepted
The number you put first shapes everything after it.
Before you request
An offer works best when the other person can understand the time, travel and work it covers. Describe the job first, then choose the payment mode that fits it. Errands and home services can be priced per hour, per day or overall; parcel deliveries and property viewings use a total for the request. The amount you propose starts the conversation rather than guaranteeing that an agent will accept.
Your checklist
- An offer is an opening, not a limit. Agents counter; you lock what you both agree on.
- Same-day and weekend jobs cost more. Say so in the details and price for it.
- Remember the agent nets 80% of the locked price. Price the job, not the fee.
- Tips are separate, up to ₦10,000, and go to the agent in full with your rating.
An example request
For a deep clean, include the room count, whether products are supplied and when someone can provide access. For a parcel run, include the packaged size, both locations and any timing constraint. For a viewing, specify the rooms and checks. If an agent counters, compare the number with the same scope before locking a price you both understand.
Before you approve
Before locking, check the agreed total and ensure the wallet can cover it. The funds are held when the agent accepts the locked price, and the exact address is shared at that point. The completed work still needs proof and your approval before payment is released. A tip is optional and separate from the agreed job price, so do not rely on an unspecified tip to explain the offer.
